Activities on the Water
If you're planning a trip to Ventura, there is no doubt you're going to the beach. Ventura, as I said in the introduction, is a hot spot for surfers. You will rarely find a local that has never been surfing. According to Surfer Today, some top spots in Ventura for surfing are Rincon, Mondo's, and Emma Wood. If this interests you, read more in the link that I provided. If surfing interests you but you don't know how, don't worry, there is a plethora of different surfing camps for all ages. The best experience I've had was with Ohana Surf Camp.

If surfing isn't your jam, there's a ton of other things you can do on the water. If you go to Channel Islands Harbor, there are many places where you can rent out a tiny electric boat to drive around the harbor. My family always goes to Hopper Boat Rentals. Here, you can rent out a number of things, including electric boats, kayaks, pedal boats, paddle boards, and hydrobikes. Electric boats hold 1 to 12 people and are about $80 per hour. Pedal boats, paddle boards, and hydrobikes are all $25 per hour. Kayaks for one person are $15 per hour and kayaks for two people are $25 an hour. All of these activities come with life jackets and a safety tutorial to make sure everyone is safe and has fun!

If you're more of a relaxation type of vacationer, all of our beaches are free! Lots of locals love to just lay out in the sun while listening to music, reading a book, or even having a picnic. If you do bring food to the beach, just make sure you're ready for the seagulls, and I would definitely recommend taking everything in resealable containers because there will definitely be sand EVERYWHERE. But hey, that's beach life for you! If you don't have sand in every little crevice, you're not doing it right!
