Ventura, California is a small town located just south of LA. Our proximity to such a big city makes our town big enough to have many different tourist-friendly activities, while being small enough to be budget-friendly and not super packed with people all the time.

While being here, you can visit any of our beaches, parks, and hikes. You can explore history by touring the San Buenaventura Mission, and then take a leisurely walk down Ventura's Main Street. Here you will find a vast variety of things to do, from amazing restaurants that have every type of food you can imagine, to watching a movie at Cinemark Century Downtown.

If you are looking for something budget-friendly, you've come to the right place! Our beaches, hikes, and bike trails are all free! If you are into surfing, we have some of the best waves in the U.S. here! Take a drive down to Rincon or Mondo's and I guarantee you'll catch some great waves! You can rent out an electric boat down at Channel Islands Harbor for cheap, or get a pass to our beautiful Botanical Gardens that overlooks Downtown Ventura.

If you're looking to splurge, we also have an abundance of options. You can book a trip to our beautiful Channel Islands with Island Packers. There is also a plethora of boutiques and shops to find Ventura merch, trendy clothes, jewelry, anything you can think of!

Guided Tours

There are a number of guided tours in Ventura that are really fun and interesting! You can find a tour for anything and everything in Ventura, from the traditional guided tour, to a virtual smartphone tour. If you are looking for something to do with the whole family, there is a guided tour and scavenger hunt around downtown Ventura. It is about a two-mile stretch and takes place on Ventura's Main Street. Tickets for this tour are around $25 per person , and you will be in groups of 2 to 6 players. The hunt can be found on your phone, and has 22 places to find and learn about!  If you are looking for something to do without kids, Visit Ventura has published an informal Beer Trail Tour.
